Twitter has unveiled an app called Twitter Reader for Amazon's voice platform Alexa. She will now be able to read tweets on an Echo speaker or any other Alexa-powered device.
Twitter said that the new app can provide general information on trends or deliver information from your own account. Apart from tweets, the virtual assistant will also read out Mentions, Likes and Retweets.

Users will need to authenticate with their account and say “Alexa, open Twitter” to launch the app. Once done, you can try commands such as, “Alexa, ask Twitter has anyone retweeted me?” or “Alexa, ask Twitter what is happening?” and “Alexa, ask Twitter for my mentions?” You can also ask questions which are more location friendly such as, “Alexa, ask Twitter for trends in Mumbai today.” However, twitter stated that the new feature does not support push notifications at the moment.
