Surat diamond traders to attend global event

Las Vegas will be host to a high-profile jewellery exhibition where 113 Indian diamond industrialists, including 20 from Surat, will take part and exhibit their work.

The fair, JCK Show Las Vegas 2009, will be held from May 30 to June 2 and is organised by Reed Exhibitions. The exhibition will house 8,000 stalls and diamond traders and exporters will display a wide array of fine jewellery products ranging from platinum to gold, diamonds, watches, designer jewellery, antique, coloured gemstones, and loose diamonds. The event will see buyers, seller and gem dealers from around the world gather under one roof.

“A similar exhibition, Sparkle was organised in Surat last year, but this is a more global event. Every year, diamond houses from Surat and India take part. One has to book stalls two-three years in advance,” said Govind Dholakia, a leading diamond exporter.
Pravin Nanavati, an exporter, said “ The exhibition is the best medium to learn about the current trends and designs.”
