Rajeev Uberoi to join IDFC

Rajeev Uberoi, regional head, operational risk & assurance, India & South Asia, Standard Chartered Bank is moving on to infrastructure finance company IDFC as group head legal and compliance and general counsel.

At Standard Chartered Uberoi spearheaded American Express Bank’s integration with Standard Chartered operations in India. This was his second stint with the UK-based bank after a first one in 2000-2004 when as head of the legal & compliance department, he was instrumental in managing the integration of the erstwhile Grindlays Bank with Standard Chartered.

An MBA and law graduate, Uberoi has 30 years of banking experience with State Bank of India, Citibank and Standard Chartered. He also has a stint with the RBI.

An expert in compliance and regulations, he has also been associated with Indian Bankers Association (IBA) and has been on various committees of Reserve Bank India.
He is also the visiting faculty for risk management at IIM - Indore / Ahmedabad.
