City travel agents said there were no cancellations by Indian passengers to swine flu-hit countries till Monday.

“Most of our clients travel to Miami, Florida, Texas, Dallas and Houston in the United States. Very few travel to Mexico, which is mainly hit by the flu. We have not had enquiries from passengers for cancellations,” Madhavan Menon of Thomas Cook India Limited said.

Rajesh Rateria of Cirrus Travels, Fort, said cancellations may follow more awareness. “The matter has just been reported in the media. As the situation gets serious, we may see Indians cancelling trips to Mexico and other affected countries,” he said.

Pork sales were also not affected. Meat shopkeepers said sales have not altered probably because India is too far to be affected.

Said Roland Saldanha of Jude Cold Storage, Pali Naka, Bandra, “The flu hasn’t touched Asian countries as of now, so it is not felt here. Even if it does, it’s too early.”

Mary D’Souza of Marvel Cold Storage, I C Colony, Borivli, said, “Our shop has had regular demand. We sold our daily six kg of fried pork items and 200 kg of raw pork on Monday. The only slight difference is due to vacations.”
