Online travel company Yatra.com expects to rake in a business of Rs five crore during the second season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) being played in South Africa.
"We expect about 10,000-12,000 people to fly to South Africa to watch the IPL matches. We are hopeful of getting atleast 10-12 per cent share of this number," Yatra.com Head (Strategic Alliances) Mudit Khosla said.
A conservative estimate would be Rs five crore in revenues for the company from the IPL, he added.
The company has also tied up with international carriers and ground operators to offer customers up to 15-20 per cent discount.
"We will offer special discounts to our customers. We have partnered with international carriers and ground operators, which will help customers save up to 15-20 per cent of the cost," Khosla said.
Yatra.com has tied up with one of the IPL teams, 'Delhi Daredevils' as their official travel partner and will organise the entire travel requirements for the team as a part of the deal.
"Apart from the sponsorship, we are running a special contest offering cricket fans a chance to win tickets to South Africa, VVIP tickets to a Delhi daredevils match, stay at the hotel, a chance to meet the team and lead the toss with the captains," he said.
