Gujarat is haven for Muslims: Modi

He said everybody should remember that there are highest number of Muslims in government jobs in Gujarat than any other state.

Chief minister of Gujarat and star campaigner of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Narendra Modi addressed several election meetings at Dahod and Bharuch on Friday. In his speech, he targeted the Congress and said that there were about a dozen candidates who were in the queue for the post of prime minister.

He alleged that prime minister Manmohan Singh was involved in vote bank politics. He said everybody should remember that there are highest number of Muslims in government jobs in Gujarat than any other state.

Modi addressed public meetings in Dahod, a constituency which is regarded a bastion of Congress due to presence of tribal voters. In Dahod, he targeted Sonia Gandhi and the UPA government for the heavy increased the price of goods of daily use. Not just that, he also raised the issue of unemployment, which, he said, was a matter of great
concern.

He blamed the Congress party for the poor rate of development even after ruling the country for a span of 55 years. On the other hand, he cited the example of the development work done by the BJP government in Gujarat, as a result of which a tribal youth will be able to lead a decent life in the near future.

After the Limdi speech, he addressed a public meeting at Bharuch, where addressing a large crowd, he alleged that the prime minister has done nothing for development of Muslims in Gujarat. In comparison to the other parts of the country, the level of education of the minority in Gujarat is higher, Modi said.

He also alleged that other than members of the Gandhi family, no other senior leader of the Congress has ever acclaimed Manmohan Singh as the PM candidate. There are more than a dozen aspiring candidates for the post of PM in the Congress party.
