Art aficionados can check out some brilliant art works, sculptures and lithographs by world-renowned European masters like Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol at The Viewing Room, Colaba till March 21. Other works by well-known European artists such as Arman, Stéphane Cipre, Jörg Döring, Mazel Jalix, Patrick Hughes and Frank Tordjmann will also be showcased at the gallery.

Being the first-of-its-kind initiative of getting such masterpieces by the European masters themselves, Gaurav Assomull, CEO of Marigold Fine Art says, "It's a great educational experience to be able to view art works of Dali, Picasso, Warhol and Arman right here in Mumbai." The company has set up its head office in Delhi and plans to set up another office in Mumbai by September, if all goes according to schedule.

Pablo Picasso, a Spanish painter, draughtsman and a sculptor is one of the most recognised figures in 20th century art. He is best remembered for the wide variety of styles embodied in his work and you can get to see some of his self-portraits in lithographs titled Portrait Imaginaire. Andy Warhol, an American painter, film-maker and conceptual artist, was a leading light of the pop art movement. He was a great example of a public figure known for his membership in wildly diverse social circles that included Bohemian street people, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats. His works at the exhibition are titled Mao - The Announcement.

Salvador Dali, a Spanish Catalan surrealist painter, was best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work remains The Persistence of Memory. You can view his works that go by the titles of Saint George & the Dragon and Dance of Time II.

"Many people don't know that you they can get an original Picasso lithograph for as little as Rs9 lakh to Rs12 lakh and an original Dali sculpture for Rs20 lakh," says Gaurav. The price range at the exhibition is Rs2 lakh to Rs35 lakh.
