President Asif Ali Zardari and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai have discussed ways to jointly combat terrorism and militancy, which poses common threat to the peace and security of both the countries.
       
Zardari and Karzai held talks in Tehran on Tuesday, where the two leaders are to attend the 10th regional Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Summit.

They held detailed discussion on the security situation in the region and cooperation in the fight against terrorism, particularly after the change in the White House with the coming of president Barack Obama.
       
They discussed ways to jointly combat terrorism and militancy which poses common threat to the peace and security of both the states, the APP news agency reported.

They also deliberated on the bilateral cooperation in diverse fields including trade, economic and commercial spheres, it said.
