IPL bound Brett Lee not scared by attack on Lankan players

Less than 24 hours after world cricket descended into chaos in Lahore, Australian fast bowler Brett Lee defiantly said he would not bow to terrorism by withdrawing from the Indian Premier League.

Lee spent time relaxing in Sydney with son Preston on Wednesday, telling that he will not be scared off by the bloody attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Pakistan.

"At this stage I have no problem at all going ahead and playing IPL. What happened in Pakistan was obviously very sad, but we can't let this stop us going about what we do with our lives. Obviously we will be guided by Cricket Australia and their cricket security experts," The Courier Mail quoted Lee, as saying.

One-day stars Nathan Bracken, David Warner, Brad Hodge and David Hussey are also committed to play in India in April.

"From where I stand, it's a tragic event and you have to soldier on. Bombs have gone off in London and we've toured there," Hodge said.

Hussey agreed: "It's probably a formality. I will go back, but I am monitoring events."

Bracken said it was a concern that terrorism was impacting the sport. "But I'll still be going," he said.

However Test great Glenn McGrath is among those expressing grave reservations about his involvement in the Twenty20 competition.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting said his players are concerned about competing in the IPL.

"I think there would have been concerns about playing there after Mumbai. That's still pretty fresh in everyone's mind," he said.
