Fahim Ansari and Sabbauddin, accused in the November 26 Mumbai terror attacks, were interrogated by US investigation agency FBI, their lawyer alleged on Wednesday at the magistrate's court here.

The police filed a chargesheet against Fahim, Sabbauddin and Mohammad Ajmal Amir Iman in the Mumbai terror attack case.

Ejaz Naqvi, counsel of Fahim Ansari and Sabbauddin, alleged before the magistrate that officers of Los Angeles Rapid Force and FBI were camping in India and had interrogated his clients on several occasions.

He maintained that both Fahim and Sabbauddin were arrested by UP police in connection with an attack on CRPF camp in February 2008 in Rampur and since then they are in custody.

He denied that Fahim and Sabbauddin were involved in November 26 attacks in any way.

He also alleged that Mumbai ATS had interrogated both of his clients much before the November 26 attacks.

The Mumbai police claimed in the present chargesheet that these two accused surveyed the vital spots in Mumbai and made maps which were used in carrying out the terror attacks.

But Naqvi said that ATS had already recorded Fahim's statement in this regard, therefore it should have had advance warning of 26/11 conspiracy.

Naqvi told the magistrate that maps allegedly made by Fahim and Sabbauddin are openly available in the market.
