In a short span of four months, Pakistan president Asif Ali Zardari is to visit China later this month.

The regional situation in the wake of the Mumbai attacks and bilateral relations will figure in Zardari's discussions with the top Chinese leadership during the three-day visit, media reports said.

The visit assumes significance as Islamabad had given a blank cheque to China to intercede on its behalf with India on the Mumbai terror attacks.

Economic cooperation and steps to boost Pakistan's battered economy are also expected to come up during the visit.

Prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Pakistan Army chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani too had recently visited China.

The two countries share what they describe as an "all weather relationship".
