Dino Morea’s decision to be at the NBA playoffs last year seems to be paying rich dividends this year. Sources reveal that the actor has received an offer from a couple of high profile talent management and casting agencies in Hollywood which handle actors like Andy Garcia and Jack Nicolson.
This basically means that if talks are successful then Dino might land a Hollywood project this year. “Yes, I will be going to Hollywood to meet some film folk based there. While it is too early to say that I am going to sign a Hollywood project, you never know!” exclaims Dino.
According to sources, Dino met his Hollywood contacts when he was hanging out at the Chairman’s Lounge on January 26, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles during the basketball game between the LA Clippers and Portland Trailblazers. These talent management guys had come with the Hollywood actors for the game.
“I went to the Chairman’s Lounge during half-time and I saw David Beckham chilling out there. Victoria was not with him. I was also introduced to Andy Garcia, Jack Nicholson. Though they didn’t know much about Indian movies and the industry, they were very cordial and warm towards us,” Dino adds.
But the roaring success of
Slumdog Millionaire seems to have done the trick. Sources say, that Dino started receiving messages from the Hollywood casting agency after Slumdog started getting noticed in international festivals like BAFTA and Golden Globes. They sent out emails to Dino asking him to come down to LA for a meeting. Sources also reveal that Lara Dutta too has received quite a number of offers from these casting agencies.

Slumdog has managed to create some immediate interest towards Indian actors. If more scripts are written keeping the Indian subcontinent and Indians in mind, the industry here will get a further boost. And it just takes one film to turn your career around, just look at Freida Pinto…” Dino ends.
