AITA gives Rs 5 lakh to Yuki Bhambri

The All India Tennis Association on Saturday felicitated Yuki Bhambri for becoming the country's first junior Australian Open winner and awarded him Rs 5 lakh.

The All India Tennis Association on Saturday felicitated Yuki Bhambri for becoming the country's first junior Australian Open winner and awarded him five lakh rupees in recognition of his stupendous show.
    
Anil Khanna, AITA secretary general, presented the cheque at a felicitation function here which was attended by former Davis Cuppers from the national capital like Sumant Mishra, Balram Singh and Vishaal Uppal.
    
AITA also awarded Rs 50,000 to Yuki's coach Aditya Sachdev, who has been working with the Delhi teenager for the last six years.
    
"Yuki's win is a very good sign for Indian tennis. He made the country proud. Now he has to perform at the senior level. And AITA will support him for his needs," Khanna said at the function.
    
Yuki, who is the fourth Indian to win a junior Grand Slam title, thanked the AITA for the financial support.
    
The teen sensation had earlier been awarded Rs 5 lakh by the Delhi Government.
