Mumbai batsman Vinit Indulkar, who is part of the 45-member Kolkata Knight Riders probables undergoing trials, was hit by an Anureet Singh snorter during a practice match at the Eden Gardens here on Tuesday.

Twenty-four-year-old Indulkar, who opened with Bhavin Thakkar, tried to avoid a rising delivery from the Railway pacer only to see the ball go through his helmet visor and hit him on his left eyebrows.

However, the right-handed opener was fine and joined the probables during the pep-talk after the second day's proceedings.

"I was trying to avoid the rising delivery and it hit the helmet and went through the protection cover. I am alright now. Two stitches had to be done," the Solapur boy said.

The probables played practice matches today with the 45 members divided into Team 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Indulkar was part of Team 1, while Anureet was bowling for Team 4.

In fact, Knight Riders wicket keeping coach Wade Seccombe conceded that Anureet was bowling with good pace.

"There were several players who have good pace. Anureet looked absolutely quick," Seccombe said.

Haryana youngsters Sunny Singh and Sachin Rana too impressed the Knight Riders thinktank.

Sunny hit a couple of huge sixes over the stands, much to the delight of Seccombe.

"We would like to see them more often. He is one of many who is in contention," added the former Queensland wicketkeeper.

The Haryana batsman averaged 45 (totalled 360) from five Ranji Trophy Plate matches this season. He also has two centuries and one half-century under his belt.

Right-arm medium pacer Rana too has impressed the Knight Riders think tank with his 18-wicket haul at an average of 21.22 from five Ranji matches this season.

Seccombe also praised Bengal wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha who shot to limelight during the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League.

"He is very enthusiastic. He plays the game in the right spirit. I am impressed with the way he batted, the enthusiasm he brought to the game, his running between wickets," he said.
