Q. You truly rocked in 2008. What are your expectations from 2009?
A: Truly 2008 was really sweet and I’m expecting 2009 to be as sweet or sweeter. I’m one film old and so I don’t really have very high expectations. I would be very happy if I can get as much as I got in 2008. But I have been mentally preparing myself too by saying my last three years were amazing. From a TV soap, to Jhalak Dikhla Jaa to Rock On – it was a memorable journey and a great high but things don’t stay the same always and all good things do come to an end sometime. I will put in my best in 2009 and hope things turn out just great.
Q: Name one actor and director who tops your wish-list in 2009.
A: Farhan Akhtar. I would love to have him as my director as well as my co-actor. He is a great combo no? Plus he has started singing and writes dialogues too. But again, there are many people from the industry I would love to work with. It’s an endless list of names.
Q: Will we see you do something on TV again in 2009?
A: I won’t do a TV soap in 2009. I’m doing a lot of stuff the next year and I’m very happy with my projects. So, I don’t think I’m plotting my comeback to TV in 2009. I will stay connected to my friends from the TV industry for sure but my priority is doing films.
Q: Commercial success or critical acclaim – what are you looking for?
A: I’m just one film old and so for me getting both a box office hit as well as critical acclaim or one of them is great. My second film Life Partner is quite ready for release and I’m hoping it does really well.
Q: Will you remain single in 2009?
A: Maybe, maybe not. I’m confused at the moment as I have crushes on many people. If I like someone that much to actually fall in love I would make the effort to tell him. I’m that type of a girl but I won’t go all out and tell the world about it. I don’t like people intruding in my personal space.
