NEW DELHI: The tryst of the 'Who is Who' of Bollywood with Bhojpuri films seems to show no sign of downward trend with ace actor Anil Kapoor and diva Raveena Tandon becoming the latest names to make a foray into the rapidly growing industry.

Kapoor and Tandon will join the likes of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Ajai Devgan, Shatrughan Sinha and Jackie Shroff who have already tried their hands in Bhojpuri films.

After Kapoor expressed his desire, Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari offered him a role in a film which he is producing.

Kapoor and Tandon will have "specially designed" roles for them to "show quite a different avatar" in this film.

"During a reality dance show 'Gali di Kudiyan Te Galli De Gunde', Anil and Raveena expressed their desire to work in a Bhojpuri film and asked me to come up with a project," Tiwari said.

Tiwari said he has started working on the script and the movie would be released next Diwali. Alike most of his Bhojpuri films, Tiwari would be in the lead role in the new movie too.

"We are working on the script for the film and shooting will start by January next in accordance with Anil Ji's convenience as he has several other projects lined up," Tiwari said.

Tiwari is currently shooting for his two new films 'Ai Bhauji Ki Sister' starring TV actors Mukesh Khanna and Sweta Tiwari and 'Mr Gobar Singh.'

Tiwari's other film is 'Hum Hain Khalnayak' with which Jackie Shroff is making his debut in Bhojpuri films.

The film, however, was delayed as some suspected MNS activists attacked its unit while shooting in Satara. The shooting was later completed in Ahmedabad.

Kapoor, whose 'Black and White' and 'Race' did fairly good business while films like 'My Name is Anthony Gonsalves' and 'Tashan' bombed at the Box office, is waiting for a hit.

The actor, who has over 100 Hindi films to his credit, has recently featured in English film Slumdog Millionire and his next film 'Yuvvraj' is going to hit the theatres on November 24.

Making a foray into the vernacular film is not something new for Tandon who has appeared in some Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films.

The "Mast-Mast" girl is presently playing a judge in "Shehar Di Kudiyan Te Galli De Gunde" of which Tiwari is co-host.

Tiwari said the entry of the two actors in Bhojpuri films would further boost up the Bhojpuri film industry which got international attention after Big B chose to work in it.

"Amitabhjee's participation in Bhojpuri films has honoured the industry and brought glamour and fame to it," Tiwari said.

Bachchan made his debut in Bhojpuri films with his make-up man Deepak Sawant's 'Ganga' against Hema Malini. He later worked in another Bhojpuri film titled 'Gangotri.'

The industry came into the limelight after Tiwari and Ravikishan's 'Sasura Bada Paise Wala' became a mega hit in 2003 and its audience today touching a whopping 250 million mark.
