CHENNAI: Police here are on the lookout for a man who allegedly kidnapped and killed a two year-old boy after he failed to get his 'usual amount of money' from the child's parents.

Police said Juknu (35) of Rajasthan and living in Chennai used to frequent his relative Anand (34) and manage to get some small amounts for his expenses since he was not settled in any particular job.

On Thursday night, he visited Anand's house to get some money but Anand's wife, Shaila, refused, saying her husband was not  in town. He then told Shaila he was taking her son to a shop, as he used to do regularly. Shaila was unsuspecting as Juknu did not react on being refused money, police said.

However, after he did not return for a long time, Shaila called up Juknu, asking him to come back home with the child.
