HYDERABAD: Putzmeister Concrete Machines, on Thursday announced to invest approximately Rs 500-crore in expansion that involves upgrading and enhancing capacity of Goa plant and others centres also.
       
"Rs 125-crore will be invested in Goa plant and the works will be completed in two phases," Andrej Hropot, Managing Director of the company told reporters here.        

The German-based Putzmeister aims to be the answer to all specialist machinery requirements in the world.
       
"To become the leader in building specialist machinery, the company has embarked on a major expansion exercise in India," he said.
       
The company said it would invest 64.5-crore in Phase 1 and Rs 125 crore in  Phase 11. The company also looking forward to completely developing all the five phases of the plant by 2012--investing a total of Rs 500 crore.
       
Hropot said " with a high growth rate of nine per cent and a huge potential in developing infrastructure, there is an ample opportunity for us to participate in the growth of Indian infrastructure industry."
       
"We to focus on the expansion of our manufacturing plant in Goa. The expansion will ensure jobs for another 1,000 to 1,300 technically qualified youth on-site," he added .
       
"Contributing to the upswing in the construction industry are factors like growing demand for quality construction equipment, the entry of global construction equipment players in the Indian market and incrasing thrust on exports," Hropot said.
       
Within India, Putzmeister has its presence spread in eight cities--Delhi, Jamnagar, Mumbai, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
       
Highlighting the achievements Hropot said that over the years, Putzmeister has recorded many landmark achievements including a range of world records in construction and other allied streams.
       
Recently Putzmeister broke its world record by pumping out concrete to a height of more than 700 m at Buraj Dubai.
       
Putzmeister was one of the international infrastructure companies involved in the construction of the sports stadium in China for 2008 Olympics, he said.
