NEW YORK: Hollywood actress Eva Mendes' new advertisement for a Calvin Klein perfume has been boycotted by several US TV networks.

The actress is seen writhing seductively on a bed in the commercial for the company's fragrance 'Secret Obsession', reports Contactmusic.com.

Bosses at the national broadcasting stations have refused to air the advertisement. However, the firm's heads insist they weren't surprised by the TV network executives' decisions to reject the campaign but they will stand by the advertisement.

"We believe the commercial is exceptional and hits the mark for 'Secret Obsession' and we are anticipating a very successful global launch," said Tom Murry, president of Calvin Klein Inc., to the New York Daily News.

A censored clip is expected to be shown on US cable networks after the 9 p.m. slot, while an unedited version will be aired in other countries.

Mendes appeared in a campaign for Calvin Klein's 'Seductive Comfort' lingerie line early this month.
