The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) promoted Reliance Big Entertainment has acquired the world theatrical, internet and satellite rights of T-Series' Himesh Reshamiya starrer "Karzzz".
MUMBAI: The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) promoted Reliance Big Entertainment has acquired the world theatrical, internet and satellite rights of T-Series' Himesh Reshamiya starrer "Karzzz".
This is the second of Himesh's three ventures with T-series owner Bhushan Kumar, where he combines his acting skills with his musical talent.
The singer-music composer made his acting debut with "Aap Ka Suroor" last year.
Bhushan Kumar has been instrumental in shaping Himesh's acting career by signing him for three films, as well as acquiring the 'Karz' rights from Subhash Ghai.
In a statement issued here today, Bhushan Kumar said, "Himesh is a very dedicated music director and actor. He has worked hard on himself and created a niche in such a short span of time, a success story that very few can boast of in Bollywood. We are happy at the association with Reliance and are sure that this is again the beginning of a long standing relationship."
Rajesh Sawhney, President, Reliance Big Entertainment said, "We are delighted to present a potent combination of talented Himesh and the classic 'Karz'. We are confident that 'Karzzz' will also be a blockbuster. We look forward to launching great projects under the ambit of this relationship with T-series."
'Karzzz' is a T-series film that will see Himesh portraying the role played by Rishi Kapoor in the original. Not just that, Himesh will also score a hat-trick by acting, singing and composing the music for the film. The star cast includes Urmila Matondkar, Raj Babbar, Danny Denzongpa, Gulshan Grover, Rohini Hattangadi and debutante Shweta Kumar, daughter of filmmaker Indra Kumar.
Karzzz is scheduled for release later this year.
