Sickand has returned to Balaji Telefilms as creative head after one-and-a- half year of bitterness.
Besides the clichéd plots that Balaji Telefilms has mastered, in real life too the production house has witnessed a lot of drama. Sickand, ex-creative head of Balaji, too has returned to Ekta’s production house.
Sandiip confirmed the news. “Yes, I have put in my papers at Miditech. I am serving the notice period. I will be joining Ekta most probably in June. It feels great to be back, Balaji is like my home. It’s a homecoming,” he said.
However, Sandiip will not join Balaji fulltime. “I will be the creative head of a few shows. I will be freelancing for them. I am also in talks with other production houses,” he added.
For the uninitiated, Sandiip was Ekta’s right hand but he moved away to join Sony. Reportedly, he was then sacked from Sony. Next he joined Miditech only to return to Balaji. All this happened in the short span of one-and-a-half year.
Quiz him why he quit Balaji in the first place and Sandiip answers, “I quit Balaji for personal reasons. The issue was blown out of proportion. There was a lot of confusion then and no one bothered to clarify. But, I’ve never denied the fact that all that I am is all because of Ekta. Thankfully, good sense prevailed and I’m working with her again. I’ve always been in touch with her. When we met, we thrashed out the rumours.”
But, the general perception is that he apologised to Ekta because he was going nowhere? “People might have 10,000 notions. I don’t want to clarify anything. After Sony, my shows in Miditech were doing really well especially Choona Hai Aasmaan,” maintains Sandiip saying that he quit Miditech because of personal reasons.
