Dancing was not my cup of tea. It was my love for sports that took precedence over everything just like dancing was for Sanjeeda. But post Nach Baliye, I have developed a liking for dancing. Today, it’s become my bread and butter because the success of the show made us very popular. Now, we are constantly travelling to different cities doing shows. These days, you will find me rehearsing for new acts. I never imagined that performing a dance item in front of a live audience would give me such a high.
‘I don’t want to give any importance to the Rakhi Sawant issue’
The show is over and the accusations leveled by her were completely baseless. But now, I refuse to give any importance to it all. I owe a lot to Nach Baliye and I don’t want to get excited or hyper about anything negative related to it. We were destined to win considering the competition was tough. Period.
‘Yes, Sanjeeda and me are a hot couple’
It’s not easy to be popular on the small screen. In films, there are 8-10 top actor and actresses, so it’s not tough for a pair to be popular. But on television there are almost 200 guys and girls. To make your pair popular among so much competition is an achievement by itself. After Nach… we have been offered a lot of dance-based shows. But I am not too keen on participating in any reality show this year.
‘I want to host a show too’
I am looking at hosting a show soon. Honestly, right now what turns me on most is performing to a live audience. Also a reality show is a good booster as you are yourself there. But I can’t overlook a fiction show because that’s what we are known as. My show Kyaa Dil Mein Hai has me in a greyish role where I along with my girlfriend cheat a girl. It’s a very interesting role.
‘Sanjeeda makes me happy’
She’s a happy person and that keeps me happy. Right now, it’s the best period for us because we are together for most of the time despite not working together on a show. That’s because we are travelling together for shows in different cities. But it’s going to be while before we plan to settle down because we have our respective careers to look at.
‘I am called small screen’s Salman Khan’
The tag came from David Dhawan who was judging Nach Baliye. For some strange reason the tag remains and I am referred to as such even in my shows. That’s a huge compliment because he’s the best looking guy in the industry. And Sanjeeda loves him too.
