NEW DELHI: Country's leading power company NTPC Ltd today said it has been ranked No.1 in 'Best Workplaces for Large Organisations' in the country.
NTPC has been ranked as No.1 in a special category the 'Best Workplaces for Large Organisations' and as No.8 overall for 2008 by Great Places to Work Institute's India chapter in collaboration with the Economic Times this year, a company release said.
This is the largest study in India conducted by GPTWI, the US-based institute that ranks work places globally.
A total of 250 companies have participated in this year's survey. The companies represented various sectors of the booming Indian economy dominated by the IT and ITeS segments besides others like manufacturing, media, realty and FMCG companies.
NTPC's Director (HR) R C Shrivastav and ED (HR &PMI) G K Agarwal received the award from CII (Mumbai) Chief Mentor Tarun Das.
In another release, NTPC said it has bagged the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award from industry body FICCI for its efforts in integrating CSR into the company's core business operation.
NTPC has been declared as 2nd runner up for this award with Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd as winner and Tata Tea Ltd as 1st runner up, a company added.
The award was presented by Finance Minister Finance P Chidambaram to R K Jain Director (Technical) NTPC at a function in New Delhi.
