Ever since she has escaped a kidnap bid, she has been kept out of school. Mankabet’s parents are complaining that officials of the Aqsa Urdu Girls’ School have refused her entry in the school, seeking an explanation for her inordinate absence.

“Instead of sympathising with the student for the tragedy, the school authorities are accusing us of tarnishing the image of the school as we had complained to the police about the kidnapping attempt,”

Mankabet’s parents said. The police had recorded the student’s details including her school’s name, which was made public. This irked the school management. School officials denied the charge saying, “It is a vacation period and we have not dropped her from the school.”
