NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old call centre employee protesting a molestation attempt was stabbed several times by some unidentified youths at a bus stop in west Delhi, police officials said on Wednesday.
The unidentified youths first tried to molest Nisha who was waiting for a public transport bus at the Peeragarhi bus stop Tuesday evening.
When she protested, the assailants stabbed her in the stomach and chest with a sharp knife. They also robbed her off a golden chain, a pair of earrings and cash before fleeing.
She was rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. Her condition is stated to be critical.
Nisha, a resident of outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area, works as a telephone attendant.
"A case has been registered and we have dispatched teams to nab the assailants," a police official said, adding that the victim is not fit to make a statement.
