Former minister's grandson arrested for obscenity

CHANDIGARH: The grandson of a former Punjab minister has been arrested here for allegedly indulging in acts intended to outrage the modesty of a woman after a camera was found in the toilet of his premises rented out to two girls staying as Paying Guests (PGs).

Ramnik Sharma, a resident of Sector-38 here and grandson of a former Congress minister, was arrested last evening following a telephonic complaint lodged by one of the girls, police said. The camera was installed at the place meant for fixing of fan in the roof of the toilet, they alleged.

The girls had recently taken the room with attached toilet on rent. The cable of the camera was found linked to the television in the bedroom of Sharma, police said.

Police have taken possession of the camera, cable, television and a computer for further investigations, they said.
