NEW DELHI: Bollywood starlet Monica Bedi on Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking to restrain the media from telecasting or publishing her objectionable photograph, shot allegedly by a hidden camera, when she was lodged in a Bhopal jail in connection with a passport forgery case.

A beach headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan allowed Bedi's counsel to filing a petition in this regard and agreed to hear it later in the day.

Senior advocate K T S Tulsi mentioned the case before the bench and said that a private TV channel had on Thursday showed the objectionable photograph of the actress, shot in the jail bathroom.

He said he was directly mentioning the matter before the bench prior to filing the petition as some dierection could be passed for restraining other channels from airing the obscene picture.

The actress was acquitted by a Bhopal court in the passport forgery case on July 16 but was released on July 25 from a Hyderabad jail after getting bail from a court there in a similar case.
