Muslim Front seeks implementation of Sachar committee report

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Muslim Front on Thursday asked the Centre to immediately implement the Sachar committee report for according reservation to the community.

Though the Sachar committee report has been submitted several months ago, the Congress led central government has not taken any initiative for its implementation, the Front President Mohammed Siddiqui Ramjani said.

The attitude of the Congress in implementation of the report is contrary to its promise in its manifesto to work for the reservation of the community, he alleged.

He urged the Centre to bring a bill in the monsoon session of the Parliament to avoid any legal hurdles and for its expeditious implementation.

The General Secretary of the front Quttubddin Khan said the front has no objection if the creamy layer of their community was excluded from the reservation category if the same was done with ST and OBC.

The front would hold a symbolic dharna on Friday in front of the Musafir Khana here, demanding implementation of the Sachar committee report and submit a memorandum to the governor, he said.
