BERLIN: German cyclist Stefan Schumacher won the 28th Tour of Bavaria after the fifth and final stage on Sunday, in the build up to next month's Tour de France.
The 25-year-old, who rides for Gerolsteiner and won the Dutch classic Amstel Gold Race in April, took over the leader's jersey thanks to his fourth stage win on Saturday in the 24km time trial.
Sunday's final 160km-long stage was won by fellow German Sebastian Siedler, from the Italian-German Team Milram, with his team-mate Erik Zabel in second, a week after his confession to taking banned blood booster EPO (erythropoietin) during the 1996 Tour de France.
