HAVANA: Cuban President Fidel Castro blamed the United States for the fatal attempted hijacking of a plane by two deserting soldiers in Havana last week, in a newspaper article released on Monday night.
The failed attempt was "a result of the freeing of a terrorist monster," Castro wrote, referring to the release from a US jail last month of Luis Posada Carrilles, a fierce opponent of his regime convicted of bombing a Cuban airliner.
