Nupur Parulekar plays young Moushumi Chatterjee’s role in a TV show

Her friends say that she resembles the ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ beauty Bhagyashree. Some say that she looks like Sarika. But when producer Dheeraj Kumar saw Nupur Parulekar the first time, he instantly decided to cast her in the serial, ‘Mann Mein Hai Vishwas’. The producer wanted a face that resembled Moushumi Chatterjee.

“They thought that I resemble Moushumiji and they made me play her younger self in ‘Mann Mein Hai Vishwas’,” says Nupur. She says that Moushumi too was impressed by her.

“She used to be very friendly on the sets, and she particularly liked me. She admitted that I did look like her,” says Nupur. Moushumi’s daughter, Payal, was also instrumental in getting Nupur the role.

A student of Ruparel college, Nupur has worked in many TV commercials. She rues the fact that she’s lost touch with Moushumi. “After we shot the serial, we lost touch. I wish I meet her soon,” she signs off.
