After a successful stint in Europe, where he secured his card for 2007, Jyoti Randhawa will mark his return to the Asian Tour with his appearance at the inaugural Pulai Springs Malaysian Masters golf tournament from August 31 to September 3.

Randhawa, the Asian No.1 in 2002, played the joint-sanctioned events in Asia in the first half of the season and then in Europe, where he had some good results.

Randhawa is also confirmed for the US$3 million Barclay’s Singapore Open the following week.

Digvijay, Ghei for Plaza Open

Digvijay Singh and Gaurav Ghei will begin with happy memories at the Crowne Plaza Open as it tees off at the Yalong Bay Golf Club on Hainan island for the first time to mark the start of second half of the Asian Tour season.

The tournament should spur Digvijay as the Indian had one of his best finishes of tied third place at the Crowne Plaza last year, when it was held at Grand Epoch in Beijing.

For Ghei, the venue holds positive memories since he, playing the TCL Classic at the same Yalong Bay Golf Club in Hainan, finished tied fifth which more or less made his task of making the card for 2007 fairly easy.

The two will be among a total of nine Indians — Amandeep Johl, Harmeet Kahlon, Rahil Gangjee, Amritinder Singh, Uttam Singh Mundy, SSP Chowrasia and Gurbaaz Mann — in the field.
