You are the highest paid actor on TV. How much do you charge per day for your shows?
I am not the highest paid actor on TV. In fact, what I make from two shows most actors make the same amount of money from one show.

What do you think has made you the superstar of the small screen, especially after your career with films didn't work out?
On TV, it's not the actor which works; it's the character. I owe my success to my characters and my creative head.

Don't you think soaps today are being stretched too long?
No. If people are still glued to their TV sets, I don't think the shows are being stretched.

You play a grandfather in 'Kyunki... .'. How convincing is your character?
I am absolutely convinced about the character I portray. They are all young people, so it's fine if I am playing the role of a granddad. I have a 14-year-old daughter – I'm not very young.

What's with your new hairdo in 'Kyunki... '?
It was a deliberate attempt to look different. The generation leap shows us 20 years later. And I thought it was a great opportunity to change my look as well. Now I'm portraying a man who has lost all the people he loved — he's a 'dead man walking'.
