The city’s film industry functions and certain business centres were on the hit list of Lashker-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists.

This was revealed by two suspected LeT militants, who were arrested from the New Delhi railway station on Monday.  Gujarat’s Kandla port, the railway bridge, motor market and an ongoing meeting of film producers in Ahmedabad was also on their hit list.

“Some of the busy markets of Mumbai and Ahmedabad were on the hit list of the terrorists. Also it seems they were targeting film industry functions held in Mumbai,” said Karnal Singh, joint commissioner of special cell of the Delhi police. Police said the duo were as Abdullah alias Firoz and Mohammad Ali. Incidentally, Abdullah is a resident of Mumbai while Ali hails from Ahmedabad.

“Both of them had received training in Pakistan and were later pushed inside the India from the porous India-Bangladesh border,” said Singh.
