Vaishnavi, noted film and serial actor and a prominent television personality, was found dead in her Chennai residence on Monday evening.

CHENNAI: Vaishnavi, noted film and serial actor and a prominent television personality, was found dead in her residence in the upmarket Annanagar area in the city on Monday evening.
Police sources suspect it be a case of suicide. The actor's father Thanigai Nathan said he saw Vaishanvi (20), hanging in her room from the ceiling of the fan using a shawl.
Police quoting preliminary probe said the young starlet might have taken the extreme step due to mental stress as she had to simultaneously attend to her education and pursue her career.
Vaishnavi had starred in a popular television serials including, K Balachander’s ‘Anni'’ on Jaya TV and ‘Manaivi' on Sun TV, besides hosting a film comedy show on Sun TV.
She caught the attention of the TV viewers with her performance as Anjali in ‘nni’ in which she used to utter her trademark “Enakku Aiyyonnu Irukku” whenever she became emotional.
She had also acted in the Rajnikanth-starrer Baba as one of the sisters of Manisha Koirala, the lead lady in the film.
