A 35-year-old man, working as a project manager with an e-publishing firm in Pune’s Vimannagar, has lodged a complaint with the Airport Police against his two superiors, including a New Zealand national, alleging that they had sexually abused him. He has said in his complaint that when he protested, they threatened to sack him and even manhandled him.

Though the incident took place last year, it wasn’t until recently that the victim came forward with his complaint.

The suspects have been identified as Richard Pipe (65) and Dominic D’Souza, who have been working in the firm as additional director and managing director respectively.

As per the 35-year-old complainant, the incident took place in August 2013 at D’Souza’s residence in Viman Nagar. He stated that before the incident, he was also subjected to mental harassment in office by the two bosses.

On August 4 last year, the duo had invited him to their residence and promised that they would have a general discussion on the issue of workplace harassment. “When I went there, they were drinking and forced me also to drink. They started telling me about the same sex sexuality and told me how it was acceptable in the western culture,” stated the victim in his complaint.

He said they showed him porn films and started making advances and stripped him forcefully and started touching him.

When he protested, they allegedly beat him on his private parts and threatened that if went out and told anybody outside, they would fire him from the job.

Police sub inspector, SS Chavan, who is investigating the case, said that the victim later gave up that job, but only recently did he come and register the case.

The reason he told for lodging the case so late was that he was disturbed after the incident and so took all this time to bring himself to lodge a police complaint against the two bosses.

“We have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC. However no one has been arrested so far,” said Chavan.
