Alert engineer nabs conman trying to sell fake gold in Pune

An alert engineer, with the help of the public, nabbed a conman who had come to sell fake gold weighing 2 kg  at Kondhwa on Friday. However, a woman and a man who had accompanied the suspect, escaped.

The suspect was identified as Ratan Ganagram Prajapati (50) of Madhaya Pradesh.

A complaint was lodged by the engineer, Akash Maruti Jege (23) of Katraj. Ratan told him that he had found 2 kg gold in an excavation in Madhya Pradesh. He offered a small piece of the gold for authentication. But Ratan became suspicious and nabbed him. The suspect is in police custody.
