Woman held with heroin at airport

The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs department at Mumbai airport arrested a South African woman for carrying heroine worth Rs3,77,000.

The passenger, Isabel Eduardo Mazanga, was to board the Kenya Airways Mumbai-Nairobi flight KQ 203 that was to leave at 3.10am on Friday.  “When we checked her check-in baggage we found the heroine concealed in the false bottom of her trolley bag,” said an AIU press release. 

The passenger came to India from Johannesburg by Emirates Airline and landed in New Delhi on June 2 where she stayed till June 10.  She came to Mumbai by train on June 11. She was arrested under the narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, for possession, carriage, concealment and recovery of drugs under seizure.
