Little man Ojas was very popular

Ojas Mehta, the 14-year-old student from Dhirubhai Ambani International School, was extremely popular. His Facebook profile had as many as 462 friends. As the news of his accident spread, his profile was flooded with messages like “get well soon” and “hang in there, man”.

By evening, after he succumbed to his injuries at Lilavati Hospital, there were hundreds of “We will miss you” and “Rest in peace” posts. Most of his online friends were from his school.

The details that Ojas has put on Facebook included his birthdate as June 7, 1988. However, his actual birth date is June 1, 1995. This is probably because one has to be above 18 years to join Facebook.

The class IX student who was on his way to school had uploaded 208 photographs.
These included his own and those of his friends. In several photographs, Ojas is fondly called as ‘dwarf’ and ‘little man’.

He had joined Facebook groups of Wayne Rooney, Ronaldo, Michael Owen, Manchester United, Hannah Montana roxx, Dogs r soooo cute, popular sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S, and BlackBerry. He had also uploaded some pictures with his pet dog,
Zed. He has posted pictures of him posing on a bike when he was
10 years of age.

Ojas’s friend Sana Kadri, who is a student of class X in the same school, has posted on Facebook: “Rest in peace, little man. We will miss you forever.” She told DNA, “I would not claim to be a close friend. We were together in a cooking class at school. He was very jovial; I have always seen him laughing.”
