Actress Deepika Padukone, who will be flagging off the Stayfree DNA I Can Women’s Half Marathon on Sunday, is thrilled to be a part of the initiative that supports girl child education, awareness about cervical cancer and public safety for women.

“I’m really looking forward to being there and seeing enthusiastic participants run for these causes as I myself feel very strongly about them. I will definitely be cheering all the women,” she says. “I am glad to be a part of this noble endeavour. I’d ask all women to come and participate and all men to come and cheer.”

The actress, however, is not the only one excited. Singer Raageshwari Loomba says, “I am looking forward to running at the event. I will lend my support to all the causes that this initiative has taken on, as they are all close to my heart.”

“The initiative is a great way to garner interest in these causes and spread awareness,” says BJP leader and fashion designer Shaina NC.

The initiative has found support from socialite Queenie Singh, TV actor Mitali Nag and a number of other personalities. Dipannita Sharma, actress-model, says, “This is a great opportunity for everyone to show their solidarity towards the causes close to their hearts. Hats off to this initiative!”
