The Congress central leadership wants to field Suresh Pachori who hails from Madhya Pradesh on the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.

A section within the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has expressed displeasure with the All India Congress Committee (AICC) functionaries for considering a candidate from Madhya Pradesh instead of Maharashtra for Rajya Sabha membership.
The Congress central leadership wants to field Suresh Pachori who hails from Madhya Pradesh on the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.
A senior MPCC leader on condition of anonymity told DNA, “When we have able candidates who have served the party loyally, why should we sacrifice our quota for other state candidates?”
