Civic polls: PNS candidates get different symbols

Candidates of the Pune Nagarik Sangathana (PNS) have been allocated different symbols by the returning officers.

Candidates of the Pune Nagarik Sangathana (PNS) have been allocated different symbols by the returning officers. However, all five candidates of the Pune Janahit Aghadi (PJA), the party floated by independent corporator, Ujjwal Keskar, were allocated the cup-and-saucer symbol.

The PNS had fielded 15 candidates for the elections of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Binod Kumar Ojha (Lohegaon airport), Hitesh Borase (Adinath Society), Bhairu Choughule (Bharati Vidyapeeth) and Mohini Karande (Sadhana Vidyalaya) were allocated the coconut as their symbol. Siddharthya Roy (Aundh ITI), Sana Patil (Pashan Sutarwadi) and Shilpa Salunkhe (Lohegaon airport) would be contesting on the symbol of candles.

Shankar Kalamani, the PNS candidate contesting from the Pune University panel would be contesting on the symbol of gas and Sunil Jagtap (KEM Hospital) would be contesting on the symbol of kettledrums. Vivek Velankar of the PNS said the candidates wished to fight the elections on the above symbols only.
