Commuters of Sewagram express were severely inconvenienced due to their loco driver’s carelessness on Tuesday morning. The CST-bound train was to halt at Thane as per its itinerary. However, it eventually halted at Bhandup station.
According to Central Railway’s chief spokesperson VA Malegaonkar, the loco driver of Sewagram express lost his concentration while on duty and he forgot to halt the train at Thane. He estimated that there may have been about 50-60 commuters who de-boarded the train at Bhandup.
The spokesperson promised that not only will a disciplinary action be taken against the loco driver but said “we will also provide retraining and counseling, if needed”.
A similar incident had taken place mid-November last year on the Western railway’s suburban stretch.
