In the backdrop of an affidavit filed in Bombay high court claiming of his involvement in the Adarsh scam, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar dismissed reports linking him and his acquaintances as beneficiaries of the scam.

According to the affidavit filed by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar, two Pune-based applicants of Adarsh Housing Society in their verification form, mentioned the same residential address as given by Ajit Pawar's wife in an application she filed before a civil court in Pune in 2009.

Ajit Pawar's wife, Sunetra, in an application before a civil court in a property dispute, had given her residential address as Jijai, Yashwant Ghatge Nagar Society, University Road, Pune.

The same address had been mentioned by two applicants of Adarsh society -Jayashree Bhosale and Nivruti Ganpati Bhosale - in an undertaking, the affidavit claimed.

"I have rented the bungalow, 21-Jijai in Pune, from Avinash Bhosale with an agreement dated July 1, 2009. The property was in name of his (Avinash's) father Nivrutti. His father applied for a flat in Adarsh in 2007 when the bungalow was on his name," Pawar said.

The agreement of the bungalow was executed in the name of Pawar's son Partha, who was a minor at that time. The minister paid Rs 5 crore as deposit and the agreement will remain in force till June 2014.

Initially, Avinash Bhosale's sister-in-law Jayshree had applied for a membership to Adarsh society which was rejected. So, his father applied later and was allotted the flat, Pawar said.

"I have all transactions on paper about the bungalow and will show it to CBI during the enquiry," the minister said.

The court has asked CBI to look into this aspect too.
