Woman held for killing hubby at in Kandivli

The Samta Nagar police have arrested a 29-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her husband to death on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Rajbhar (30), a resident of Kandivli (E). Rajbhar stayed with his wife Guddi.

According to the police, the couple who hails from Uttar Pradesh got married seven months ago and had shifted to Mumbai in search of a better livelihood. Rajesh was not able to find a suitable work for himself and often used to beg and do odd jobs.

The earnings were not satisfactory and hence the couple was going through financial depression. Due to unavailability of finance, they often used to quarrel and Rajesh, under the influence of alcohol, used to thrash his wife and abuse her on frequent occasions.

"On Sunday around 7.30pm the couple fell into an argument over some household issue and later Rajesh, who was drunk, started thrashing is wife. Getting infuriated by the daily fights and arguments, Guddi picked up a knife and stabbed Rajesh multiple times in his back. Rajesh was critically injured and was rushed to Shatabdi hosptial where he was declared dead by the doctors. Later, Guddi was arrested," said a police officer.

"The accused have been charged for murder. We have recovered the murder weapon from the spot and we are investigating the matter," the officer added.
