Two murders in one day in western suburbs

A 65-year-old senior citizen was killed over a property dispute by his 22-year-old nephew in Borivli on Friday. The nephew allegedly wanted the deceased to transfer the property in his name.

The accused has been identified as Aatish Patel and the deceased as Kishan Gopal Kharvi.

According to the Borivali police, the incident occurred around 1.55am in Krushna Nagar welfare society, a chawl, near Royal Complex, Eksar road.

Patel has been arrested. Patel wanted Kharvi to transfer the property in his name including a house. To which, Kharvi had an objection. On Friday, in a fit of anger, Patel smashed Kharvi's head to the floor that caused his death.

Patel later confessed to his crime.

Meanwhile in another murder, 40-year-old Sandeep Dhamnaskar, was stabbed to death with a screwdriver by Ranjeet Chavan (28), and Harish Shah (50).

According to the Dindoshi police, Dhamnaskar had asked Chavan, to bring alcohol but when Chavan failed to do so, Dhamnaskar slapped him and in a fit of rage Chavan with the help of Shah, stabbed Dhamnaskar to death with a screw driver.

Police have arrested Chavan and Shah and booked them for murder.
