Three die on Mumbai-Pune Expressway after car crashes into container

Three people were killed after the car they were travelling in crashed into an ​container near Urse toll plaza on Mumbai- Pune ​Expressway on Thursday night.

The mishap took place near Shirgaon bridge just before the Urse toll plaza on the expressway at around 8 pm on Thursday. Out of the three deceased, police have managed to identify two of them as Hemant Talekar (28) a resident of Uran and Prafulla Bihari (18) who hailed from Bihar. Identity of the third deceased was not ascertained till late night on Thursday.

According to Talegaon Dabhade police, ​the car reached near Shirgaon bridge, ​and rammed into the container​. The three victims died on the spot.  The rescue staff said they found it difficult to remove the bodies from the damaged vehicle.
