An occupational therapist for children with special needs, Saadia Merchant, and a parent of a child with special needs, Rituparna Chakraborty Gupta, have started a website to help parents of differently abled children. It has occupational therapists, speech therapists, special educators and other experts willing to provide services to this community.

Merchant, who practices at Little Joys Paediatrics Rehabilitation Centre in Andheri, said, "We have a fantastic panel of experts who will respond to queries and two parents who will share their experiences through blogs.

Professionals can create their profiles on TreeOfHappyness.com, so that parents who need their services can find them on the network. Parents, grandparents, caregivers or people with special needs can create their profiles on the website; they will then be able to find professionals, who can help them, and other parents to share information with. We are currently Beta testing our site. Our mobile app will be made available on Google Playstore soon."

"There was no platform for parents like me for communication. Hence, Merchant and I decided to start this portal. The first version of the app will be launched post 5pm on Saturday. We will add new features to our app, which we will ask our users to update," said Gupta.

One needs to log in and create an account on TreeofHappyness.com to have a conversation with experts. The group is also present on Twitter @TreeofHappyness and have a Facebook page. Suvajit Sengupta and his team from Geogo Technologies LLP based out of Bengaluru are working on the technical part of the website as well as app.
