Swara Madhuri, a Telugu music forum, started by a few like-minded people staying at Ghodbunder Road promotes both Marathi and Hindi music through its forum.
With eleven committee members and 100 live members, the forum is prominently organising events across the city, on every occasion and promotes young talents from the city. Dwibhashyam Girija, president and founder of the forum said, "We formed the forum in 2009, with a few to promote artists who don't get exposure. Later on, we realised that artists are not bound to language. Hence, through our forum, we have started promoting both Marathi and Hindi music."
"Our entire group is music lover and they believe in encouraging artists, irrespective of their language," added Girija. Sharing an interesting event, she said, "There are people from our community who have been residing in the city for generations. They have always demanded for Marathi and Hindi songs in the event and thus, we started promoting one and all at our forum."
The income generated through the program is used for charitable activities, specially in the field of education as the forum encourages poor and intelligent students to continue their education.
The forum has artists like Apoorva Gajjala, Bhavna Saripalli, Mahadev Sastry who sing songs in Telugu, Marathi and Hindi as well.
Girija said, "I personally like Marathi and Hindi music very much and we don't have any qualms about promoting the same as artists are independent and this is a forum for music lovers, not bound to any language. As every language has same rhythm and music, we invite music lovers, irrespective of the language they want to sing in."
The forum till now has conducted 45 programs in Thane, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. "We even have the plan to present and promote the music in a bigger way. We are in the process of compiling a CD dedicated to the story of Sai Baba in Hindi. We planned the compilation because there are many senior residents who cannot read stories. Thus, to make the story available to them, we have planned 45 minute long compilation. Depending on the success, we will translate them to Marathi and Telugu as well."
