Rati Agnihotri lodges another case against husband

Yesteryear actress Rati Agnihotri late on Sunday registered another complaint against her husband after he allegedly threatened her with a knife at their Worli residence. The actress called up a senior IPS officer, who intervened and alerted the Worli police station, which sent a team to Agnihotri's residence.

According to a source in Worli police station, on Sunday evening Agnihotri and her husband Anil Virwani were having a fight, when Virwani allegedly in a fit of rage brandished a knife at her. She also alleged that he threatened her with dire consequences.

"Agnihotri, during the fight, managed to make a phone call to a senior officer, who alerted the Worli police and a team was immediately rushed to her home," said the source.

However, when the team reached Agnihotri's residence and made inquiries about the incident with her son, he allegedly denied the whole episode.

After the police intervened, the actress decided to lodge an FIR against Virwani. The Worli police have registered a case under section 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code against Virwani.

When contacted, deputy commissioner of police (zone III) S Jayakumar said, "I can't divulge much as the matter is under investigation. Once all the inquiries are made, we will take further action as per the law."

This is not the first time Agnihotri has lodged an FIR against her husband. Last month too she had approached the Worli police and registered a case of domestic violence and criminal intimidation against Virwani.
